Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Only people who earn a lot of money are successful.

Many people believe that a large income equals success. I believe, however, that success is more than how much money you make. Some of those measures of success include fame, respect, and knowledge.
Most people assume that famous people are rich people, but that isn’t always true. For example, some day I would like to be a famous researcher. Few scientists are rich by today’s standards. Still I will feel myself to be successful if I am well-known. Additionally, there are many famous humanitarians who are not rich. Mother Theresa was one. Certainly, no one would say she was not successful.
I also believe that being respected by coworkers indicates success. Without that respect, money means little. For example, I once did some work for a top attorney in a law firm. He made a very good salary, but he wasn’t a nice man. No one ever did work for him willingly. He orderd everyone around, and we didn’t respect him. In contrast, however, I had a wonderful band director in high school. He had to take extra jobs just to make enough money to support his family. However, his students had great respect for him and always listened to what he said. As a result, we were a very good band. In my opinion, my band director was more successful than the attorney was.
Finally, I think one of the most important indicators of success is knowledge. Wealthy people don’t know all the answers. For example, in the movie Good Will Hunting, the only person who could solve some complex problems was the janitor. He knew a lot, and decided what he wanted to do with that knowledge rather than just think about money. In my opinion, he was extremely successful.
When we think of history, there are few people that we remember simply because they were rich. Overall, we remember people who did something with their lives - they were influential in politics, or contributed to science or art or religion. If history is the ultimate judge of success, then money surely isn’t everything.

Some young children spend a great amount of their time practicing sports.

Most kids love to play sports. It’s important to them, but for the majority, it’s just one type of activity out of many that they do. For a small number of kids, though, a sport becomes their whole life. They spend almost all their time and energy practicing. This has both advantages and disadvantages.
Sports are good for young children in many ways. Kids who enjoy sports are likely to have better health. They develop good habits of daily exercise that will keep them healthy as adults, too. Today, many children and adults are overweight, but those who love sports stay in shape. Plus, by developing their physical abilities, they will learn how to work hard towards a goal. Their achievements in sports will make them feel good about themselves. They’ll also make friends and learn teamwork. Sports, whether a little or a lot, can have positive effects.
We admire the talent and dedication of young athletes, but we also wonder if they’re losing something. Their focus is very narrow. If they devote most of their time to sports, are they neglecting schoolwork? What about other interests? Children should try out many different activities. In addition, many young athletes are pressured by parents or coaches to succeed. Kids whose drive comes from inside usually do okay, but others can be unhappy and have health and emotional problems. So sports, like anything else in excess, can have negative effect too.
When I was young, I liked books and hated sports. I saw other people who loved sports and hated school. Now that I’m older, I’ve found a better balance. People have to figure out what’s right for them. Is there such a thing as too much sports? There is no right answer, because there is no “right amount.” Everyone is different.

You have decided to give several hours of your time each month to improve the community where you live. What is one thing you will do to improve your community? Why?

Volunteering a few hours each week to some community activity is an important way of investing in the future of our society. I chose to spend my time working with elementary school children helping them to learn to read. Developing good reading skills will help these students keep up with their classmates, open new worlds to them, and help them succeed in life.
Students who are not good readers cannot keep up with their studies. They will not understand the lessons; they will come to school unprepared; they will not be able to perform. By learning to read, students will be on equal footing with their classmates. They will be active participants in class.
Books on different lifestyles, occupations, cultures, or governments will open new doors to students. Students who can’t read will only know what they see around them. Students who can read will be able to travel to new worlds and experience new ideas without ever leaving their classrooms.
Today, a person who can’t read is severely handicapped. A non-reader will have to work at the most menial jobs. Readers, especially good readers, have the whole universe open to them. They will have the possibility to learn any job that interests them.
By volunteering to help an elementary school child learn to read, I am helping him or her not only today, but for the rest of his or her life. I am helping them keep pace with their peers and explore the world and themselves through books.
I have to say, Donald Duck has not aged gracefully...

People do many different things to stay healthy. What do you do for good health?

Our healthy is the only thing we really have in the world. You can take away our money, our house, or our clothes and we can survive. Take away our health and we will die. That is why I eat healthfully, exercise regularly, and keep up my social life.
Eating healthfully is important to maintain one’s health. I try to avoid foods high in fat like French fries or cookies. I also try to limit the amount o f animal protein I consume. I never eat more than a few ounces of fish or chicken a day and I rarely eat meat. I eat a lot of vegetables and fresh fruit which are full of fiber and vitamins. It is important to know how to cook these foods so the nutrients are not lost in the cooking process.
Your muscles must continue to be strong to support your body as it grows older. Exercise helps the bones build density and helps you maintain your posture. A regular exercise program of cardiovascular training and weight training is an important part of keeping you healthy.
Friends are an important part of one’s health. Studies have shown that people with a wide range of social contacts get fewer colds and have fewer complaints than those who don’t. Laughing is also an important part of health. I like to laugh with my friends and I always feel better when I am with them than when I am alone.
By eating properly and exercise regularly, I can keep my body at an appropriate weight and can maintain my health. By spending time with my friends, I can keep my mind as well as my body happy. It’s all part of my recipe for healthful living.

Which one do you prefer, to solve problems on your own experience and knowledge, or to ask others for advice?

As knowledge and experience serve as twin towers in problem-solving, one is often
presented with two major paths that pave the way for final fulfillment, either to wrack his brain,
just like what happened to Newton, suiting for many years under an apple tree and eventually
figuring out nod of the greatest universal rules that govern the whole globe, or to seek for others’
wisdom through their advice, just as in the case of Benjamin Franklin, gathering great minds under
one roof and then establishing a most world-renown library. Both ways work. When a practical
goal is involved, however, Benjamin Franklin may best be regarded as a role model in this respect
and asking people for advice often turn out to be the prime alternative.
Experience and knowledge borrowed or learned from others’ advice contribute greatly to
effectiveness and efficiency for a goal-accomplishment. Not all experience and knowledge related
to problem-solving can be obtained by personal effort alone due to limitations of mind and
capabilities of each individual. A single thought in someone’s mind is, more often than not, far less
shining compared with group’s wisdom. That explains the famous old saying that one sees further
when standing upon the shoulders’ of past great giants; that explains why a great leader is always
with greater minds; that also explains why teamwork in corporation is highly emphasized in the
21st century. Brainstorm and exchange of ideas between different thoughts never fail to enhance
capabilities of each individual involved, a team, a company, an institution, a country, or even the
entire global village.
Asking others’ advice instead of getting everything done on one’s own promotes democracy
and communication too. In terms of democracy, it is necessary to give others rights and chances to
speak since the problem may concern them in different ways, and their saying in turn reflects our
respect toward freedom of speech as well as their wisdom. In terms of communication, idea
exchange sometimes focuses more than solutions, and hereby better mutual understanding about
perspectives, principles, practicalities and personalities of each other.
Admittedly turning to others for help and suggestion by no means refers to absolute and
irresponsible dependence. Consideration upon different thoughts and ideas broadens our mind,
enlarges our vision, furthers understanding, enhances more effective and efficient brainstorm, and
stresses mutual respect in groups and communities, which undoubtedly gives rise to better, if not
the best solutions. As is paraphrased from John F Kennedy, brainstormed, there is little we cannot
do while divided, there is little we can do.

Just between you and me

Just between you and me...
I want our love to always be a
personal thing
just between you and me.
There will be others who will
think they know us better
that we know ourselves
who will want to offer their
opinions
on the way we ought to be
There will be times when we are curious or confused
and we'll find comfort in
talking to a friend
or spending time alone...
But if ever there is a problem
involving the two of us,
I hope that we will always come
to each other first,
For just as it took only the two
of us to fall in love,
the two of us can overcome
any obstacle
that ever gets in the way.

The Ten Commandments

To understand the foundation of computer ethics, it is important to look into the different schools of biology ethical theory. Each school of ethics influences a situation in a certain direction and pushes the final outcome of ethical theoritical.
Relativism is the belief that there are no universal moral norms of right and wrong. In the school of relativistic ethical belief, ethicists divide it into three connected but different structures, subject (Moral) and culture (Anthropological). Moral relativismis the idea that each person decides what is right and wrong for them. Anthropological relativism is the concept of right and wrong is decided by a society’s actual moral belief structure.
Deontology is the belief that people’s actions are to be guided by moral laws, and that these moral laws are universal. The origins of Deontological Ethics are generally attributed to the German philosopher Immanuel Kant and his ideas concerning the Categorical Imperative. Kant believed that in order for any ethical school of thought to apply to all rational beings, they must have a foundation in reason. Kant split this school into two categorical imperatives. The first categorical imperative states to act only from moral rules that you can at the same time will to be universal moral laws. The second categorical imperative states to act so that you always treat both yourself and other people as ends in themselves, and never only as a means to an end.
Utilitarianism is the belief that if an action is good it benefits someone and an action is bad if it harms someone. This ethical belief can be broken down into two different schools, Act Utilitarianism and Rule Utilitarianism. Act Utilitarianism is the belief that an action is good if its overall effect is to produce more happiness than unhappiness. Rule Utilitarianism is the belief that we should adopt a moral rule and if followed by everybody, would lead to a greater level of overall happiness.
Social contract is the concept that for a society to arise and maintain order, a morality based set of rules must be agreed upon. Social contract theory has influenced modern government and is heavily involved with societal law. Philosophers likeJohn Rawls, Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau helped created the foundation of social contract.
Virtue Ethics is the belief that ethics should be more concerned with the character of the moral agent (virtue), rather than focusing on a set of rules dictating right and wrong actions, as in the cases of deontology and utilitarianism, or a focus on social context, such as is seen with Social Contract ethics. Although concern for virtue appears in several philosophical traditions, in the West the roots of the tradition lie in the work of Plato and Aristotle, and even today the tradition’s key concepts derive from ancient Greek philosophy.
The conceptual foundations of computer ethics are investigated by information ethics, a branch of philosophical ethicsestablished by Luciano Floridi. The term computer ethics was first coined by Dr. Walter Maner, a professor at Bowling Green State University. Since the 1990s the field has started being integrated into professional development programs in academic settings.
The first commandment of computer ethics is "thou shalt not use a computer to harm other people." It's generally accepted that hurting people in any way is wrong, and this first commandment reaffirms that this applies to harm inflicted using a computer.
The second commandment states "thou shalt not interfere with other people's computer work." Work with a computer can be a delicate and time consuming endeavor, and disrupting that work is not only rude and an invasion of privacy, but can potentially cause damage or loss of data.
The third commandment of computer ethics is "thou shalt not snoop around in other people's computer files." Personal privacy is important for everyone, and looking through someone's files uninvited, whether in person or over the Internet, is a violation of that privacy.
The fourth commandment reads "thou shalt not use a computer to steal." Just as stealing in the real world is a crime, using a computer as a means to steal money, data, copyrighted material and other information is not only disruptive and potentially damaging, it's often illegal.
The fifth commandment of computer ethics states "thou shalt not use a computer to bear false witness." A computer should never be used as an aid to medium for lying, perjury or fraud, regardless of the method or reason.
The sixth commandment says "thou shalt not copy or use proprietary software for which you have not paid." No matter how much it may cost to obtain legally, pirating or copying software you haven't purchased for any reason is like stealing money from developers and the programmers who write the software.
The seventh commandment of computer ethics states "thou shalt not use other people's computer resources without authorization or proper compensation." Stealing someone's bandwidth, software or even hardware is wrong. Always have permission to use such resources, and if necessary, be willing to pay for them.
The eighth commandment is "thou shalt not appropriate other people's intellectual output." Plagiarism is a crime. Never take someone's work, be it artwork, music, video, writing or any other product of someone's effort, and claim it is your own. Always get permission, and give credit where it's due.
The ninth commandment of computer ethics states "thou shalt think about the social consequences of the program you are writing or the system you are designing." When designing software or a computer system, always consider the ways it can affect downstream consumers. Could your social networking site encourage "cyber-bullying?" Could your electronic voting system be manipulated by the unscrupulous? The consequences of our actions and creations can be more far-reaching than anticipated at design time.
The tenth and final commandment of computer ethics is "thou shalt always use a computer in ways that ensure consideration and respect for your fellow humans." Use computers responsibly, to do positive and productive things for yourself and the people around you. Never use the computer in a way that might demean your fellow human beings, or cause others to do so.

ALL ABOUT ME

ALL ABOUT ME
I'm Jerry liu, I'm 16 years old. I like to make robots, so I always use computer to write program. When I was 7 I start learning robot and start learn easy program. That program like the big piece I don't need put the numbers in to the program. However, now I write the program in the specially software. I know how to do the photoshop, then I will talk about that.
From the functional perspective, the software can be divided into editing, image synthesis, the school color palette and special features for image effects production part etc.. Image editing is the basis of image processing, can do all kinds of transformation such as zoom, rotation, tilt, mirror, perspective on the image; can also copy, remove speckle, repair, modification of image damage.
Image synthesis is the image will be a few images through the application layer operation, synthesis tools complete, convey a clear sense, this is the only way which must be passed of art and design; the software provide drawing tools allowing foreign image and creative good integration. The school color palette can be conveniently on the image color shading, color bias adjustment and correction, can also switch between different colors to meet the image in different fields such as Webpage design, printing, multimedia applications.Effects produced in the software is mainly completed by the filter, channel and tools of integrated application. Production includes special effects image creative and special characters, such as paintings, reliefs, plaster painting, sketch and other commonly used traditional art skills can be completed by the software of special effects. The middle window is the image window, it is the main work area Photoshop, used to display the image file. The image window with its own title bar, provides the basic information of open files, such as file names, scaling, color mode. Such as open at the same time, two pairs of images, can be switched by clicking on the image window. The image window switching can use Ctrl+Tab. That's the information I know about the photoshop.
I like to ride bicycle. In last semester I and my few friends we set up a cycling team called Massage cycling team. This name form our school, our school called Saint Paul American School, the short name is SPAS, so that's the name from. In the morning, when we wake up we will check the weather and air pollution. If the weather is sunny and the air pollution not very high will ride bicycle to our marshal point. A seven eleven. That seven eleven leave too many mammary to us. Some times if time is early we will ride around the big park. On the weekend we always ride bicycle to go camping. Once we ride to suburbs, we rode more than 100km. Is very long travail, we all enjoy that.

I was been a robot teacher last semester, in the class I teach students how to make robot and take them to robot competition. We use 3 months to finish a robot project, I lead them to competition and achieve a good grade. That job let me learn a lot of things not only about the robotics but also let me know how to communicate with little kids.
